I took some of my market finds, including a bag of figs, out to Land's End along with a book. I landed up chatting with a friend on the phone for about an hour while enjoying the view and the glory that is fresh, ripe, juicy figs. The book (which shall remain nameless) was for my book club, and I wasn't really enjoying it anyways. The figs were another story.

I have been in Southern California for almost 2 weeks, and am mortified at the thought that I'm missing fig season. Hopefully there will be some for me when I get back.
