Poor Mowgli got very sick this weekend, it turned out to be the kitty equivalent of kidney stones, which can be fatal if not treated. The normal treatment wasn't successful, so he had to have major surgery. Not pleasant. The only polite way to say it is that despite the fact that he was neutered long ago, he now has NO boy parts. He's handling it well, happy to be recuperating at home after 4 1/2 days in various vets offices and hospitals. My credit card is not handling it so well...

One of Amanda's Christmas gifts was a skein of un-knit yarn with a tag that said it would turn into something soon. It did today, a seed stitch hat. Amanda isn't home to model, so Scooter took over.

I was working at home today on the kitchen table, only to discover that Scooter things carbon molecule models are very exciting. He kept trying to steal them (look closely, you can see one in his mouth) while I was trying to build molecules.

Garbage Kitty?

Being an ecologically minded kitten, he also enjoys the paper recycling bin. Although he seems to spend all of his time in there playing with the paper scraps. I'm afraid he might be a bit of a poser-eco-kitten.

New Game

Here's the latest game at our house. Scooter gets inside the bathtub. Mowgli sits on the toilet lid. Then they attack each other through the shower curtain. Maybe it's because there's fish on the shower curtain.

This Can't Be

They're sleeping next too each other. No hissing, no biting, no chasing. It will only last a minute, I'm sure. And it's not as if this is happening in the middle of the night when I'm trying to sleep. But still.
